A Day of Learning, Networking, and Fun at the Salesforce World Tour in Washington, D.C.

This year the Salesforce World Tour in DC was at the Washington Convention Center! The location was fantastic, and proved more spacious than last year's tour at the Reagan Trade Center.  Overall, the event was a great success, and seems to be getting bigger and better every year. In D.C. the Salesforce World Tour always takes on a unique twist due to the focus on the public sector, non-profits, and foundations. Below are my favorite moments from the event!

Vetforce Panel & The Vetforce Alliance

The Vetforce panel consisted of Suzanne DiBianca (Salesforce), Major General George Franz (AFS), Charles Sevola (Prudential), Lauren Zolp (Ledgeview Partners), and Colin Powell. During the session panelists stressed the the importance of giving our military members and their spouses opportunities to gain new skills. They also stressed the strong character skills already developed during military service. The panel emphasized the importance of offering flexible and telecommuting options for military spouses.

Building on Trailblazer Day in Indianapolis  (where CEO of Salesforce Marc Benioff pledged to train 1 million American workers) Vetforce announced a new alliance with Accenture Federal Services and Prudential to hire and train more veterans and military spouses. We heard great success stories from non-profits like Hiring our Heroes. A very inspiring panel on the importance of helping our great American heroes.

Service Cloud Call Center Session w/ Health Cloud

While there were many breakout sessions my favorite was a Service Cloud session that combined the power of both Health and Service Cloud. During the session we walked through an example of a patient calling into a VA medical center to refill a Rx. The agent was able to handle everything in one user interface, instead of having to go work out of many different systems. The session also showed how the agent could look at the patient history, and suggest any other appointments or checkups based on risk factors and scheduled intervals.

Expo & After-Parties

The Expo also had some great booths. I had the opportunity to talk to our AppExchange partner AccountingSeed who provides the best accounting software built on Salesforce. It was awesome to see the recent re-branding their went through, and I got a demo of their newest features!

Overall a very exciting and successful event in Washington, DC. Let me know what your favorite moment of the event was in the comments!
